Clean Water…for life!
Dirty Water
Most villages where the Musahar People live have only standing, stagnant water. So, it is no wonder that thousands of children die every year from water-related diseases.
The Musahar People are an ethnic group within the Dalit (untouchable) caste and one of the most disadvantaged groups in the world. Many are caste-based laborers (in slavery) and one of the most uneducated groups in Nepal.
Clean Water
Six masons and laborers work four days to drill an average of 180 feet to reach clean water. This provides clean water for a village of 300 to 400 people
Completed Well
Children enjoying clean water for the first time…EVER! Now they no longer drink stagnant water or walk to another village where the water may be a little cleaner.
World Health Authorities tell us that one child dies every 90 seconds world-wide because of diarrhea-related disease caused by contaminated water and poor sanitation. Nepal is surely one with the greatest need.
